In the past, I have received a birth grant by check through the hospital, is this arrangement still in place today?

​Today, birth grant is paid directly into the bank account where child allowance is transferred. 
For a first childbirth, on must communicate to the officer of the hospital's maternity desk the details of the bank account into which you ask the birth grant to be transferred.
